Carving out time for the important stuff

There are many obvious tasks that have to be completed before we head to Bolivia on March 2nd, but some "to-dos" make the list simply to keep us sane in the chaos of departing.

Father-son trip: Glacier and Canyon went on their first winter camping trip with their dad. While they may not have had the most nutritious trip, their dad's menu of Raman noodles and chocolate cheesecake made the boys' experience a delight.

Girl-time: Coral's priorities these days include hanging out with the girls in the family. In the top picture, Coral and her cousin Hannah love to make their mamas smile. Below, Coral and her cousins, Aspen and Skyler, admire their princess dresses.

Taking a break: My (Lynnie's) relief from the packing and checklists takes the form of winter running. There may not be snow, freezing temps and wind to compete against in Bolivia, but at 8,392 feet, the elevation of our city (Cochabamba) will pose a challenge all its own. I hope I'm ready!

Celebrations: Birthdays are a big deal in our house....especially when a lobster is involved. Chris' birthday purchase provided quite a bit of pre-dinner entertainment for our curious boys. Canyon was disappointed when Chris wouldn't let him keep this big guy for a toy, and Glacier couldn't understand why we didn't mount the lobster alongside the deer mounts in Grampy's cabin.

While visas, buying tickets, and packing our suitcases are all essential tasks, the "to-dos" that make the top of our list are spending time with our family and friends.  It would be a lot easier if we could simply pack up these special people to take with us!
